I don't like the captive-captor thing. I don't like dub-con it creates. And here it was very much that. Their chemistry was mostly physical and the emotional chemistry came way later in the book. I read this because a friend recommended it but I'm not sure I'll be reading the sequels.
I really liked Dante and I really really liked Kat. I wish that we could have had a bit more of her honestly. The story was good. I liked the plot twists and how it developed. You get to know a bit about all the characters in the series so you know you have something to look forward to with this family and this series. You also see some other characters from other series, so a nice link there if you're into the world that Sadie has built.

Fall in love with your kidnapper is a classic mafia trope and I’m here for it. I thought the spice was good, please read TW. In fact the violence and flashbacks I thought were ok but not very well done and some a bit gratuitous.
