Dark romance isn’t for me, but truly the dark themes were tough. So much sexual assault that the content warnings needed to be a bit more explicit.
I enjoyed that it's a stand alone so I don't have to keep reading the series but the plot seemed very rushed. I think I liked the New York Ruthless series better. I also wasn't overly impressed with Dante or Kat as characters, they were just okay.

If you want a book with minimal plot then here it is. At the end of the of book I just kept thinking what did I just read. Almost every chapter was, "what just happened?" If you want a shock factor book then here it is because when I think dark romance mafia book, this should be next to it. It's so fast paced that you're never bored and there's so many red flags that it left me confused if I like the book or not. The relationship between Dante and Kat is so twisted and it's interesting because even Kat's character calls it out like that. I'm more interested about the character's story then I am about the story in general. Which is why I'm moving on to book 2!

i wasnt a fan of this standalone in the series it was ok i guess i was expecting whole more spice but.. it was a good book over all
