Not much plot with back to back sex chapters. I thought we’d get more of what Dante was doing with his pov chapters.
This is my 2nd go with this book. I read it back in June and listened to the audio book upon release. Sometimes listening to the book improves or hurts my rating. I am keeping this at 4 stars. I liked the narration but it didn't blow my socks off. I think it was fine. This is more emotional story and I am not sure the narrators fully got that across.
Overall, I like this story. I enjoy an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, captive, touch her and die story.
I like the twist with Nikki. I enjoyed the revenge plot for what happened to Kat.
I think it had good villain's, Dante's dad, Kat's brother and the 2 men that took Kat, I really hated all of them.
It has good spice but I think the scenes where Kat and D worked through her trauma progressed to fast. It wasn't super believable.
I do like the side characters, and really loved the 2nd book in the series with Joey and Max. I look forward to listening to that when the audio book releases next month.
Here's why this doesn't get 5 stars from me. Accidental pregnancy is not my favorite troupe. Dante is not my fav MMC ,he treats her poorly for a lot of it and does not really grovel that much after he locks her in the room and she almost dies. I just don't feel the passion from him with Kat that I normally feel with Sadie's books. I like Kat and she started off as such a strong willed FMC but that seems to fade throughout the story. I also wish we got to see her utilize her nursing skills more throughout the book.

Spicy but story overall wasn’t overly interesting. It’s an easy and quick read but won’t likely finished the series at this point unless I just need something in between another series. Because it was so short there wasn’t much time for things to really develop. Narration was good, Dante’s voice was hot

READ. THE. CONTENT. WARNINGS. I had this on my next to read list, and was too confident and forgot to review them (as I had before I added it to my list).
This book was great, a little fast in some areas but that is to be expected really. The chemistry is great, the writing was solid. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but by the end of the book I was actually hoping for less smut scenes and more character development. Sex was basically the catalyst for all the growth of the characters which is fine, but it made me crave more.

I also wasn't a huge fan of how the MMC helped the FMC through some of her trauma. It felt a bit forced and not gentle enough

This was a good book which I expected after reading Joey. However there were parts that for me seemed repetitive and that bothered me a little and made me loose interest sometimes. But overall I enjoyed it

Aww every time I read this book it makes me feel so much emotions. It makes me happy, sad and in love with this characters.
Kitty Kat deserves the world and more. And Dante ugh, such a sweet man, perfection *chef kiss*. This book is a perfect start to the series. The presentation of the world, the characters and the struggles that come ahead. Loved it!
