I read a lot of omegaverse smut, alright. And I can suspend a lot of disbelief. But what I can’t do is read about But all I could think was - that’s not how any of this works!
Spoiler
a woman being so full of ejaculate her stomach sticks out. Repeatedly. Or talk of one character rubbing the head of a penis INSIDE the FMC. From the OUTSIDE. I really tried to reason it out in my head - maybe their anatomy isn’t like our anatomy.

I went into this thinking it was going to be a wall-to-wall smutfest.... and it was BUT SO MUCH MORE
Fans of Kathryn Moon's sweetverse will love this low-angst group. No internal conflicts, the opposite of miscommunication trope, and a nest that I would like in my life.
Enough fluids to make the orc queen blush, this is a delightfully bonkers read

Very steamy book but it wasn't as fluffy/sweet as I anticipated. The FMC spends most of the screen time having "fun" and I still feel at the end that we don't know much about any of the characters. I feel like if it is billed as steamy-sweet with good feels, we need a bit more wooing. Particularly after the initial heat when they spent 12 weeks together. Most of that was just smut or time jumps, which I feel would've been better spent on relationship growth. But, if we are considering this just a smutty book then that's a much different story.

this one had a lot more character based plot momentum and character development than donation clinic. So if you want or like a bit more character and plot development in your spice this is a good one.
I do wish Marcus/alpha could have been a bit more developed. I feel like I needed a scene with him and Emily alone or him and Sam alone to further develop his character.
I found the couples endearing, Sam is so sweet.
Nesting sounds wonderful!
Heavy on spice, and kink.

That’s some seriously thorough Content Warnings! Like Wow! I certainly appreciate incredibly thorough content warnings like this, because it means that I can “gird my loins” as it were, & any potentially triggering material has all its bite taken away. If you don’t need lists like this, Alexis makes sure you know that there are potential spoilers & lets you skip past. You don’t lose anything, & those who do need them can proceed with caution, or stop if needed.
And Lo, it is time for my usual questions!
Are there Characters of Colour?
Sadly not in the main cast this time, but there are multiple cultures in this lil foursome.
Are there Disabled characters?
All of these characters are carrying some trauma. Some find it interferes with their lives more than others do. None of these characters have any chronic illnesses, mobility issues, physical impairments, mental illnesses, or other invisible disabilities that are discussed. Having read the notes on how this book came to be, I’m not surprised by this - you can find those neat little context notes for yourselves. Suffice to say, as this series moves forward, I’m pretty confident that the cast will become more diverse.
Are there QUILTTBAG/Queer characters?
Explicitly, ALL of the main cast are Queer! They’re all at least Bi/Pan-sexual, & polyromantic/polyamorous.
I love this.
I love nothing more than a Reverse Harem/Why Choose situation where EVERYONE is getting it on with everyone else. It’s a beautiful thing, & requires a specific skill set to write well.
Alexis absolutely nails it.
The Orellos have shot to the top of my Favourite Polycules Of All Time list, because of the way they all have genuine & beautiful relationships with each of their partners.
Was this book worth my time?
I must admit, I was somewhat shocked when it felt like this cute little story was wrapping up, & my e-reader told me I had another 7 hours of reading to go! I don’t regret a second, though. All up, I set a new speed record for myself, & said e-reader now tells me that it’ll take 9 hours, 45 minutes to read the entire book. There’s genuine, wholesome, & believable character growth. There’s wonderful, wonderful smut generously spread through the book. Nothing feels forced, & upon finishing I immediately wanted to read it again.
How likely is it that I would re-read this book?
As mentioned above, I’m already re-reading it

I'm not a fan of "straight for you." Like, at all. If the character of Tom hadn't been included, I would've given this 4 stars, and it was shaping up to be 4 stars until Tom entered the story.

Lots of fun sex scenes, but not much romance. I just didn't feel the love between them. How well do these characters even know each other? This is exemplified when Tom has a photo album made to celebrate/show their "love" and all that is in it are erotic photos of them having sex. They didn't have any pictures of them going on dates or just hanging out at the house enjoying each other's company? Their relationship felt like just sex that had a "love" label slapped on it.
I also found a few moments a bit alarming consent-wise. The first was Sam having sex with her at the clinic. It felt a little bit predatory to me because she was in heat and could not give consent and he was the one entrusted with her care. The other time was whenEmily bit Marcus during the claiming ceremony. Everyone else was good about asking for consent before doing claiming bites, but she didn't ask for consent .
Overall, this is one I mostly enjoyed for the smut. It's just not what I'll reach for when I want actual romance and when I want to see characters fall in love.
