Jasper has been hiding her identity as a woman for years. She has to pretend to be male to protect herself from hunters and collectors who would like to hunt and cage her. But when the mate who previously rejected her and two new mates appear too, Jasper needs to decided if she's willing to take a chance with them and believe they'll protect her.

I think this is my favourite book in the series so far, and I cannot wait to read about Melody and Gunner!

I was kindly provided with an ARC by the author, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Some people are a little hesitant with reading self pub authors. Some people are even more hesitant when those people are debut authors. I, however, love discovering new authors and new stories. I don't care if a publisher puts those stories out into the world or if the author does it. Because maybe the stories I'm looking for are not the ones the publishers look for. I was therefore quite excited to dive into my arc from this book.

This book was lovely in every way possible. Even though the plot of the book wasn't too thick or deep, it was amusing and created quite some tension between the characters. I have to admit that the final solution felt a little easy to me, but I also quite liked that our heroine had gained so much confidence that she could do what had to be done. Maybe it was even quite symbolic. The kid, in need of protection and hidden away, is becoming an adult, ready to take care of herself and the ones she loves.

It was therefore quite easy to like Jasper and to root for her. She had a really easy going personality, but also a responsible side. She could be playful and yet she had quite clearly built a life for herself where she was leading an entire camp. And even though she was trying to guard her emotions, I liked how at times she was failing and allowed us and her guys a glimpse into her heart and soul. She was not a breakable doll, but she was not some perfect bad-ass either.

The same can be said about her guys. All three guys had different backstories and different journeys. One was a childhood lover, who's father had driven him away from his mate. One was a loyal protector, even though the strange feelings and attraction confused him. One was the most perfect boy next door I have ever read about, openminded and always ready to say and do the right things to make his special someone know how special she is.

It was quite nice getting to know Kalasin as an author and I'm looking forward to read more by her!

This was a amazing story with a amazing concept behind it.
Jasper is a great character and I loved the story of how she gets her mates and has to figure out how to remove the magic thatchides who she truly is.

Jasper was a rare shifter that was on the run. Not only did she have a bodyguard, but a magical amulet that made her completely unrecognizable. Things are definitely not what they seem. Due to the magic in the amulet, she was stuck in that form. One PSL later, she gains three mates, a wolf shifter, a "rejected" mate, and a human. This is a sweet story of second chances, acceptance, and gaining the courage and strength to live how you want. Such a wonderful story! I can't wait to read Melody's story!

I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review

Loved it!

I loved this approach to Jasper's character, she's totally not who or what people expect. Her mates are a fantastic mix, one of whom ties into previous books in the series. Another reappearing character gets their just desserts, although I don't think we've seen the last of them! I'm looking forward to reading Melody's story, too!
