The longest book ever and no character development whatsoever
I really got pulled into the world and mystery and drama. It was so fun to sort of figure things out along with the fmc and put all the pieces together as things progress. It was such an interesting world being built and magic system and I'm excited to continue the series!

A Fate of Wrath and Flame is a wild, twisty fantasy adventure that throws you straight into the deep end—just like Romeria. The first chunk of the book is definitely a “just go with it” experience, but once things start clicking into place, it’s impossible to put down. Romy’s journey from NYC jewel thief to a pawn in a world of warring kingdoms and elemental magic is full of tension, intrigue, and some seriously slow-burn chemistry with King Zander.
While the world-building is dense, the payoff is worth it, and by the end, I was completely hooked. The political scheming, the morally gray characters, and the ever-growing mysteries had me turning pages like crazy. If you love intricate fantasy with enemies-to-lovers vibes, court politics, and a heroine who has no idea what’s going on but just rolls with it, this book is for you. I can’t wait to keep reading this series!

I really enjoyed this book. Some things I could see coming but there were surprises I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed watching the enemies go from enemies to friends and then lovers and it wasn't full insta love which drives me crazy. There were points where it felt a little slow but I enjoyed it and do want to come continue reading the series.

4.5/5. I was not sure what to think when I heard that a contemporary writer was writing a fantasy. However this did not disappoint in the slightest. It can be a bit slow at the beginning but not unbearably so, and the enemies-to-lovers arc is so beautiful and slow-burn. I also love fake dating turns real love stories. I’ve never wanted a second book so soon!! If you’re a fan of the typical style of fantasy story in books that have the “A _____ of _____ and ______” type of title, you will surely enjoy this.
