Super cute and fun to read! Will definitely be waiting(not so patiently) for the sequel!

This was a really fun read. I liked how all the characters seemed to be a bit more dynamic than their general stereotypes. The story was cute and there were many funny parts. I also love when there are pop culture references, and The Ugly Stepsister Strikes Back had many different ones, from classic movies to current musicians. This was the perfect cute and fluffy read.

This was an enjoyable read, but there wasn't anything spectacular about it. There were a ton of cliches but to be fair, I like cliches sometimes, and it obviously was good enough for me to finish reading. If you're looking for a short, fluff read, then I'd reccommend it and since I got it for free on Amazon, I'm always happy about that.

Matilda (Mattie/Tilly) lives with her sister (STEPsister) Ella and her father, who is an artist. Both the girls' mothers aren't in their lives anymore, although Mattie's appears a couple of times on Skype. According to Mattie, Ella is perfect; she volunteers, works, does housework, I think they mentioned cheerleader, and unfortunately dates the guy that Mattie has been in love with since she was litte. (sidenote: I especially didn't like the unrealistic light Ella was painted in; no one can do all of that and maintain grades needed to get a scholarship for college and stay perfectly nice. Can they? I'd like to meet that person). The reader joins Mattie as she stumbles through love and discovers more about the people she loves.

Like I said, all in all, it was a good book. There were just little things that bothered me like the things I already mentioned and how the characters didn't seem to grow very realistically.

Predictable but adorable. Sometimes a dose of cute is needed.

Think Clueless meets Cinderella, but from the other side. It's fun, light-hearted, with nuggets of truth, and contains enough teenage angst to remind older folks how traumatic school really used to be. A great read!

So I was a little apprehensive at first, I’m not usually big on YA books but I’d just read some pretty heavy stuff and wanted something lighter. Matti reminds me of myself throughout high school (rainbow hair included) and I just loved how ridiculously in love she is. The best part is that although her internal monologue is a little cringy sometimes, her outward appearance isn’t half as bad as you would expect. I’m so excited for Promposal. Now on to read other works by Sariah Wilson ❤️

I am conflicted about this book.

On one hand, it's well written, engaging and fun, the characters, despite appearances, are more than skin deep and even interesting, they are also young enough to grow out of their rougher edges and stupidities (most of them).

But on the other hand, the male "romantic lead" was incredibly disgusting - the typical selfish spoiled brat who coasts on his charm, good looks and the clout of his rich parents, and who only just barely comes out on top when compared to an outright sleasy bully - his best buddy. Ain't that charming... Yuck! There are youthful mistakes and then there are deeply entrenched character traits conditioned and encouraged from childhood. The flaws of this guy seemed squarely in the second category.
The heroine started off as self-centered and petty, but she had enough smarts and self awareness to correct course and truly adjust her attitudes. While the guy just expanded his repertoire of tools for getting others to do whatever he wants.
I started the book thinking they might deserve each other and ended it wishing for someone much better for the heroine. Hopefully she will outgrow this stupid teenage crush in college.

And now I am apprehensive about reading other books in the series.

3.5 Stars - Very cute story, perfect for young girls to read.
