I really enjoyed this book. The author has worked out a formula I quite like, a combination of a British setting, unexpected feelings, characters with depth and warmth, and some delicious angst. My only quibble with this book was actually with the narrator, whose pacing was a bit rushed. (Please pause a bit for new paragraphs, for the benefit of the listener, especially when narrating the character’s inner monologue.)

I wanted to like this book, but it wasn’t good. Lots of repeating the main character’s flaws, the plot was muddled and not well thought out, and the chemistry was lacking outside of bedroom scenes. The ending felt very abrupt and rushed.
