The beginning is good-it's not really a spoiler since you learn in the first few pages, that Claire is back in her own time. This was fascinating until you get to the part where there's a flashback and she and Jaime are in France.

That piece of the story was essential, I suppose, to further the plot and the characters but I slogged my way through it until a bit later in the book. Then it was fast paced and I couldn't put it down! If the first seems slow, stick with it. It's worth it. And I was so very glad to see Claire finally grow in this book and not always be completely helpless.

I hated how the first book ended and how this one started but overall the story itself it very interesting. The first part was structured oddly and it was choppy. I understand why it was told that way but the organization was off I think. Everything smoothed out though and the rest was great especially the last part!
