i LOVED this one! it was the Perfect amount of expected cozy 'silliness' while maintaining an interesting storyline... these characters are a Hoot! Their dialogue cracks me UP and gives All the Southern Cozy Vibes... 5 Stars! :D

This is a delightful read for fans of lighthearted, small-town mysteries with a strong sense of community, perfect for those who enjoy cozy whodunits, amateur sleuths, and a dash of humor, set against the picturesque backdrop of the great outdoors.

Okay Read

This was an alright read. This is the second book of the Campers & Criminals series. It is a cozy mystery that takes place in Normal, Kentucky. In this story, Mae West has settled into her role as owner of the tourist campground, Happy Trails. When a series of burglaries occur in the small town. One of their own is found dead, and Mae’s good friend, Betts Hager, is the prime suspect for the murder. Just when Mae thought she found a place where she belongs, Mae must prove that her friend is innocence of the crime. I thought the story was better, but still could be better. I thought the story was good and quick. I enjoyed Mae a bit more in this story, but she did come off as a bit of a naive, and self-centered person at times. I think her character development still needs improvement. I am hoping that as the series goes on, I can build more of a connection with her. I thought the ending was good. I will continue the series. I am wondering what Book 3 has in store for me. Overall, an okay read.

3 Stars

I really liked the first book in this series and saw potential for it to fall in line with other similar series that I enjoy (Stephanie Plum series, Finlay Donovan series etc.) BUT this second fell short. It’s one of those books that is read like one of those tv programs people leave on in the background—-entertaining enough, but not really a full attention grabber.

This was a fun, entertaining read. I've never visited a campground before, but this book kind of makes me want to. The story was interesting, and the characters were fun. I especially loved the dog. I look forward to visiting Normal, Kentucky again soon.

Deserts, Driving & Derelicts is book 2 of A Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery Series.

These cozy mysteries are the perfect quick read that can be finished in a day or two. For being such quick reads, the books are very enjoyable, with fun characters and a pretty decent murder mystery story line.

Each of the characters has an individual personality that contributes widely to the overall rounding of the friend group. And, there is always a little animosity amongst a few of the main characters as well.

I’ve really been enjoying this series, and was happy to find out that there are several books left to read.

The audiobooks have been my preferred method of reading during the holiday season. I find my time stretched thin, so I’m unable to sit and enjoy a physical book. I’ve been using audiobooks to help me get through the new year. And, the narrator of this series helps to bring Normal, Kentucky to life.

I can’t wait to see what the ladies...and gentlemen...of Normal get themselves into next.

What an absolute comfort series!

If you are looking for easy listening, no stakes or stress - and a bit of fun - this is the one!
The southern charm + chaos is the best combination.

SpoilerAnd my god, that slow-burn romance - just kiss Ty already!

I started this series on audio last month and appreciated it enough to continue - they're short books that take just a day on audio, so quick and easy.

Mae gets a flash from her past, a woman with a high maintenance dog is accused of murder, and the two men interested in her have a bit of a stand off when the one comes back to town!

These are just short, cozy mysteries - and a delight to listen to!
