I loved this book.  I expected a sweet romance, but it was much more than that.  I haven't seen the movie, but I'm not sure this could be made into a decent film since so much of the book is the character's thoughts and explanations for the people in their lives.

More like 4.5. Very beautiful story about immigration and love. I loved all the science and history stuff that Yoon mixed in the story as well. I see why it was a finalist in the National Book Awards. I will check out the rest of her work.

This book ripped me to shreds. I’m not sure if there’s anything else to say- it’s a must-read.

A beautiful, funny, relatable read (despite many surface differences from the characters). Absolutely will be reading more of Yoon's work.

4.5 stars: This book was so good! I love the way Nicola Yoon writes, it is very smooth nd easy to read. The whole concept of this book is just so intriguing and the scientific aspect she brings into it really enhances it and makes it seem less "love at first sight". Irene's ending makes me so happy, even though she is a minor character. It is so great to know that such a small act can make the world to someone. I was trying to predict the ending and didn't like the options I thought were going to happen, so I was nervous but the way Nicola Yoon ended it was perfect. Such a great epilogue!!!

This was a cutesy novel about two teens coming to terms of their own definition of fate, destiny and what love truly is. I liked it mostly because it didn't end the way most lone standing novels do. Great quotes that I can take away, though.
