So, book 3, Clary…

She really starts off on the wrong foot in this one. Honestly, she spends the whole book running on tantrum energy - just impulse after impulse, zero thinking. Stuff works out, but only because of pure moral luck, not because she’s clever or careful. And it really shows how little ethical integrity she’s got here, just barreling ahead with stubbornness and feelings instead of sense. Her character drove me nuts - and yeah, I wrote that note at the beginning, and sad to say, it stayed true for the whole book 😅. The one saving grace? People actually call her out for it this time. Izzy, Luke - they straight up tell her she’s acting like a kid throwing a tantrum, and I loved that someone finally said it.

Setting Clary aside, I had a good time with the rest. The action kept me hooked, though the whole
“maybe siblings??” drama gave me the ick all over again. Like, yes, I knew they weren’t, but they didn’t know -
which makes it just as uncomfortable as the first time.

Character-wise, this book had some really strong arcs. Simon, Izzy, Alec - all great. And Luke, as always, is a favorite.
Max’s fate… still sad. I was destroyed the first time I read it, so this reread hit a little lighter, but still ouch.

Overall, I’d say this one keeps the rereads on a solid track.

Finally finished rereading this one. Loved it almost as much as the first time.

emotional funny

City of glass was my literary trauma. I remember reading this for the first time and the sheer amount of emotions this book put me through and now, reading it again at least 8 years later, I can say it's still one of the most iconic tmi books.

Cassandra Clare isn't someone with a particularly florid or extravagant writing style, but she managed to portray incredibly deep emotions without losing her signature fun tone. There's something to be said for being able to make readers feel so much without needing overly fancy prose.

This book feels like the beginning of the end. It gives us closure with Jocelyn and Valentine's storyline, but then leaves us with the new thread that was introduced here: Sebastian, who in some way has been haunting the narrative this whole time. You can feel how this sets up everything that's coming next in the series

35 rounding up. Much more interesting read. Relatively satisfying. Don't know where the next book leads but interested in finding out.

While reading the book, I was always thinking about how KONTING BOOKS NALANG I NEED MORE LIKE LEGIT MORE. I love this series so fucking much like I dont usually ask ‘more’ from every series I read and even though I know na marami pang books, ITS STILL KULANG. I love how we see more of Jace and Clary’s relationship in this book unlike city of ashes :(( so much ‘I love yous’, ‘we cant be together but I still want every inch of you’ and ‘fuck it let’s just do its’ I was really excited to read this book and it didn’t disappoint me. Idris is so beautiful :(( In my imagination, it looked like the streets of Italy. Oh! and JOCELYN AND LUKE’S RELATIONSHIP WAS SO CUTEEE (THANK GOD ITS NOT THE UNREQUITED LOVE CLICHE) I think this was my favorite book in the series so far.

Dieses Buch hat einfach mindestens 10 Sterne verdient!!!
