So, if you’ve read Powerless, you know Winter gives Theo a verbal lashing in the driveway of the ranch when they meet. I’m pleased to tell you we get the full scene, preceded by the moment they lay eyes on each other. What’s better is that it’s from Theo’s perspective and he is hooked!

The miscommunication enraged me until the end of the next chapter when it was clear something else was afoot. Elsie Silver masterfully draws emotion from readers.

Theo is known as a playboy on the circuit, and he wants to clean up his image. He wants to be worthy of Winter. Not a woman like her; he wants Winter. She doesn’t trust it because no one has ever chosen her; Theo accepts he has his work cut out for him. Challenge: accepted.

The banter between Winter and Theo is funny with just enough bite in the right places. Theo takes pleasure in sparring with her, and she feels safe enough with him to speak freely.

I spent most of my time reading this wearing a smile. I recommend Reckless wholeheartedly!

📌 What stood out
» Harvey Eaton, OBVIOUSLY 🤣 It wouldn’t be Chestnut Springs if he didn’t steal the show 🏆

» Theo is book boyfriend gold. He demands Winter prioritize herself and finds ways to force her to do it. Theo wins at woo!

📌 Moments
» Winter and Summer’s relationship levels up when they realise they can crack jokes about Rob; they’ve also both slept with Peter (Theo’s dog), which is very on brand for them. 😆

Theo and Winter are my roman empire. This book has me in a consensual chokehold. I absolutely loved how something that was supposed to be a one night stand and nothing more turned into a life altering moment that brought them together once more. Watching Winter slowly open up to Theo was such a beautiful experience. Theo realizing what he’s missed out on and not only embracing his new role but being such a supportive figure for both Winter and Vivi had my heart EXPLODING.

Frothing at the mouth for Theo Silva. This is the book that got me interested in the Chestnut Springs and it truly didn’t disappoint. I am not a surprise pregnancy trope gal, but I kinda knew it would come in this one so it softened the blow and I really kinda think it was a wrong time right person kinda deal with Theo and Winter. I also really liked that Winter’s character was strengthened. I hated her in the first book(s) for how she acted to Summer but I came to appreciate her character arc in this book.

I think this was my favorite so far. I’ve loved the others but this one takes the cake I think. It’s so sweet. I stayed up way too late last night to read it because I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a perfect book to just lose yourself in the story

Every Chestnut Springs book I read leaves me an absolute mess. Seriously, the series is unbelievable, there’s not one “bad” book. Theo Silva, you have my entire heart. 🥹🫶
