Overall enjoyed the story, but didn’t feel it was as good as book 1. The fmc in most of the flashbacks showed very “pick me”/insecurities that was annoying. Parts of the book were cringe. Nothing to write home about but Hollie has my heart <3

The second book in the multi-author Skyridge Hotshot series, Protect, is a slow burn, second chance romance packed with romantic and spicy chemistry between FMC Violette and MMC Rowan (aka King). The dual timeline was beautifully layered. I got such a strong sense of Violette and Rowan as individuals—their strengths, insecurities, and passions—as the story followed both their history as high school sweethearts and their story when they reconnect as adults. The story is sweet and heartfelt, but there’s also plenty of banter and lovely moments of friendship between the characters and the broader cast, which included some favourites from the first novel, Fight (Sloane St. James). This was my first Paisley Hope novel, and I loved it! I’m definitely going to be reading more of her books in the near future.

More wildland fire fighter romance books please… what another fun book to read in this series. Great levels of spice, emotional intelligence with the MMC. I love to see it.

This was such a good second chance/single mom book. But it has quite a few triggers so check those.

I hated that Rowan hurt Violette when they were kids but seeing them back in the same town made for some interesting sparks. I love how they were brought back together and he was able to redeem himself. I especially loved seeing him with her daughter.
