Siren Suicide is a book that punches hard in the gut. It deals with suicide--hell, it even deals with /double suicide/--and other very raw and harsh topics. Honestly, I am so very impressed with the poise Anske handles such subjects. The emotions--both the good, the bad, and the ugly--experienced by Ailen Bright, the MC, are beautifully portrayed through lyrical prose, and they ring true and authentic. The action in the story is nonstop and each chapter rolls straight into the next one.

The ending left me . . . with mixed feelings, which is why I knocked of 1/2 a star. I won't have any spoilers, but let's just say to me, the ending came completely out of the blue and I'm still not sure whether I liked it or not.

That being said, there is a very satisfying character arc with Aielen Bright, and her voice (ha! pun not intended) is so very powerful and shines through on the pages.

In conclusion, 3 words to describe Siren Suicides: dark, gritty, raw
