This is my first vampire book. I probably would not have chosen this book if it wasn't a book club pick.
I did enjoy it for the most part. Loved the dark academia vibes and learning about the Etheopian history. I look forward to reading the next book.

The Ethiopian folklore infused into a dark academia/vampire setting made this such a unique and imaginative reading experience. Also, the tropes in this book held true until the last page because the intense animosity between the MC’s makes you keep wanting to turn the page to find out what’s going to happen next. Truly the best portrayed enemies to lovers/slow burn trope that I have read so far this year.
