Personnages mal développés. Trop de péripéties qui se bousculent sans avoir été réellement placées. L'histoire avait du potentiel, mais elle a été mal développée. Je regrette mon achat et d'avoir fini le livre.

J'avais déjà lu Cupid's Match sur wattpad où l'on en trouve un premier jet et c'est avec plaisir que je m'y suis replongée. Je suis maintenant curieuse de lire la version retravaillée de ce livre que je compte acheter dès que possible. Si la première version que l'auteur a laissé gratuitement accessible sur cette plateforme de lecture est déjà géniale je suis sûre que les version publiée vaudra le détour !
This is my second time reading this, first time was on wattpad. I feel like parts have changed, mostly for the better but there are issues I didn’t want to previously acknowledge such as how quickly James was over and dealt with and then never mentioned again. But I still stand by the fact that I love the idea of this book and it was a pleasure to read again. The creativity of it is amazing

I didn't finish this book, but I did get several chapters in, so I'll write my review based on what I did read and why I didn't want to finish it.
The teenage main character of the novel finds herself the butt of a joke (or so she thinks) when she is summoned to the office of a matchmaking service she never joined. She travels well out of her way to get there, which I don't buy (hello, it's spam; throw it away). When she gets there, she's looked down upon by all she meets, but someone eventually tells her she's matched with someone who would be terrible for her and who can never find out who she is.
MC is disbelieving of the Greek mythology that unfolds in front of her, but she never lets that hold her back from actually going through with anything these characters ask her to do. The condescension she faces from them doesn't seem to warrant this level of trust, so it was hard for me as the reader to suspend my disbelief at the fantastical premise. I finally got to the point after about 80 pages where I felt I'd rather spend my time on another book.

Den Schreibstil fand ich sehr angenehm und recht flüssig zu lesen.
Die Charaktere waren sehr flach, man hat kaum Interessen oder Gedanken der Protagonistin erfahren um ihr näher zu kommen. Dadurch habe ich zu ihr und der Geschichte keine Bindung aufgebaut und es war mit relativ egal was mit dem Charakteren passiert.
Außerdem gab es einiges an Klischees die aufgegriffen wurden und der männliche Protagonist war 0815.
Bis zur Hälfte des Buches habe ich gelesen, danach die Seiten nur noch grob überflogen. Das Ende habe ich dann noch gelesen. Für mich persönlich hat es keine Lust auf Band 2 gemacht und ich werde die Reihe nicht weiter verfolgen.
Die Grundidee fand ihr sehr interessant und auch der Einstieg in das Buch ist gut gelungen. Leider war die Umsetzung nichts für mich :)
