I thought most of the sex scenes were completely out of place. Also the way the author described Indi made me so uncomfortable.

This book was as disgusting and nauseating as a weeping, festering wound. I could only listen in hour long chunks before taking breaks. 5/5 perfect book

Definitely not subtle at all. I think I prefer the more nuanced, but evocative, approach of [b:Light from Uncommon Stars|56179360|Light from Uncommon Stars|Ryka Aoki|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1626721795l/56179360._SY75_.jpg|80834645]. Very different books but both trying to engender a similar emotional response in the reader.

I've had it checked out from the library for too long whoops.

About as unique a take on the zombie genre as you can get. I really appreciated its drama, its commentary, its characters and how many times the word 'cum' was used.

One big thing was holding this book back: the structure. It's made up of short segments, and we flip around a lot of different points of view in the blink of an eye. It was really confusing when action was going on, some of those sequences were hard to picture.

I also wish this hadn't been categorized as horror. It's not scary. It's just very gross. If anything I'd categorize this as post apocalyptic queer action drama?
