An excellent Russian satire based upon the Soviet cosmonaut programme. This is essentially a coming of age story; full of hope and heart break as boy hood dreams grow into hard and complex realities.
The humour often hinges of Soviet Russian social issues and I'm sorry to say that some of it was beyond me, but it's still a very accessible Sci-Fi. There are some brilliant pop culture references, and excellent use of imagery to set the scene and aid the comedy.

This book exceeded my expectations. It was a very good story about the ridiculousness of the soviet space program. The twist was fantastic. The story got a lot of emotions out of me. I was invested in the story. Very impressive. 4.25*

A delightful, quick read about the moon, the Soviets, regret, and escape.
An amazing novella that showcases the unique experiences of Russians who lived through the USSR and its collapse, and the disillusionment that they faced.
Ideology surrounds us, and this story examines the consequences of living in a society whose dedication to ideology reaches the level of absurdity.
