I liked this book, especially the first half. It started to get annoying when Macy kept running away from what happened 11 years ago with Elliot. I understand that she doesn’t want to talk about it, but it has been 11 years and I think as a reader, I just wanted to know.
In terms of what happend 11 years ago on nye, I now understand why she didn’t reach out to Elliot but I think more than that what both of them are missing it that fact that yes Elliot cheated but also he was kinda taken advantage of, because he was so drunk he didn’t give consent esp. because he thought he was hooking up with Macy, when in fact it was not her. I think that would have been nice to explore Elliot’s pov of that. But I do understand that he definitely cheated and I get Macy’s anger with Elliot as well. Not just that he slept with someone else hut also she feels like he is responsible for her dad’s death. If he hadn’t cheated, she would have called her dad and they wouldn’t have been in that circumstance.

i started this at 6 pm... finished at 11. 5 hours of pure enjoyment. of heartbreak. of laughter. of tears. of shock. this right here???? i'm actually blown away. this is my first christina lauren book but i have a feeling it won't be the last. i don't know if i've ever loved someone the way macy loved elliot - bc if what happened to her happened to me i'm not sure i would be forgiving (i can hold a grudge, ok?)

i absolutely enjoyed the writing, and the pacing. i gotta say 4.75 ⭐️, the then and now chapters were starting to annoy me after 75%. i wanted the now !!! lol i wanted it all. it was just great.

My heartstrings were twisted and snapped. The tears flowed and the emotions I felt were overwhelming, Christina Lauren is incredible.
