I liked this, but at the same time it was so darn sad. Almost too sad for me. It's hard to rate a book that really hits you, when at the same time you wish several parts of the plot had played out differently.
I am also always kinda weary when characters fall for "their one and only true love" at 17/18. I believe it can happen, but maybe this book took it a tiny bit too far.

Could NOT put this one down. A really wonderful story about the growth of friendship into first love (had so many flashbacks to mine while reading), and finding each other again after many painful years apart.
That being said, The Big Reveal of what had happened in their past made some of the rest of the story...not as plausible. I acknowledge that the timing of the reveal was likely for dramatic effect, and sure, people respond differently to situations and trauma, but...it lost some believability for me.
Still absolutely loved it. Going on the favorites shelf.
