“I guess you have to decide if he’s worth the risk. And whether you’re willing to take the risk.”
This quote feels the most fitting for the book, it's a fake dating YA romance which in its self has the main point being "are you willing to be honest to try and find out if this can be something real?", but this book took it a step forward by having each of their backstories be more centered around the fact that they have been left down before.
I honestly think they could have gone even more in depth into those issues, it was sometimes mentioned of Violet's strained relationship with her mother but I wished the author would have actually shown and dived deeper into that, it would have made her character more well rounded. As for Reed, I think the conversation regarding Nicole would have been a nice deeper moment between him and Violet to truly showcase that their relationship is deeper than the attraction. The conversation at times felt a bit forced but the characters were nice enough that I didn't mind it too much.
On the bright side Reed was an absolute sweetheart and I enjoyed the brother dynamics as well as Violet and Mia's relationship. This was a lighthearted and fast paced YA hockey romance, honestly what could a girl ask more for the perfect spring holiday read. It has it's faults but I had a great time and that's all that really matters from a book.
*Not really a spoiler but still a warning - Obviously Grayson is going to end up with Paige but what do we think about Parker? My guess is that it could be him and Mia

okay guys i actually really liked this! despite the cringy figure skating routine at the end it was actually so cute!!!!!! maybe im just in an intense reading slump and maybe this is just way more exciting than jane eyre (or maybe it’s just fun wholesome romance 🤷♀️)
i would just like to say that i kept forgetting they were in high school because they acted like full grown adults. like i kept forgetting grayson is his twin and not his older brother and that cammie (his younger sister) is like 15/16 not 20
also, don’t know if im delusional, but id love to see a parker and nicole book (just saying) i also dont know why but im obsessed with parker and im scared because thats so rogue of me but parker x nicole when pls 🙏
