Dami just wants to be human again, and they thought they had it figured out but of course there's a catch.
This is their story/adventure/journey to figure out just how they can do that!
It's full of misadventure, deadly accidents, a very unlucky but attractive boy, and a mysterious (and potentially extremely deadly?!) island.
The story starts out in 1821 and mainly takes place in the Caribbean as well as the New England area of the US. It's a historical fiction fantasy with a delightful blend of Latinx pirates, magic, demons and devils.
This is the second book in a series so this does spoil the outcome of the Wicked Bargain, but you don't really need to remember many details from the Wicked Bargain to enjoy this one.
