This was great (if you ignore the last sentence).

A captivating thriller which reads almost like a horror at times. Short chapters, intriguing premise, and a small cast of characters made this a quick and entertaining read. Boats scare me anyway so that really added to the unease I felt reading this.

The plot twists were insane to the point where I can't tell if I loved them or hated them - but I was entertained nonetheless.

I thought some bits of the plot were a bit heavy handed though like the parallels between Caz and her Dad. There were also a few things that were set up but never really went anywhere which was strange.

Definitely worth a read!

I mean, obviously an explanation comes for why the setup for the story is what it is. But it's a little hokey. And then the ending is kind of a slap in the face, and then the ending-ending made me groan. But, it hooked me JUST enough to finish it.

Glad I didn't read any reviews before reading because this one is easily spoilable if you know anything beyond *woman wakes up alone on a cruise ship*

Original but stressful? Every chapter ends on a cliffhanger that just ups the ante. Just when you think things couldn't get worse, they always do. This is not a book you read to relax. I think my reflex was to disconnect from the story so I would stop dwelling on the... bad luck? the character found herself in.

When we finally find out what the deal is... it's so far-fetched. I was annoyed. I stopped thinking about it the second I finished.
slow-paced

Could have been a shorter book. A lot of the same stuff… but the ending. Omf.
