An entertaining enough read. Josephine takes the place of her friend to marry a domineering Alpha. She disguises herself thinking he will drop her the moment he realises but instead he goes through with the wedding.

Wouldn't rush to read the next one but have added it to my list of books to read.

Wolf shifter Josephine Southpaw isn't going to let her friend from college walk down the isle with an Alpha arranged marriage. Josephine has a magic charm hiding her identity and plans to walk down the isle with Alpha Maxwell Battle and then when they get to the honeymoon portion say TA DA, you jerk and get an annulment.

Maxwell knows Josephine is not his bride to be and he is elated. He wants the curvy woman with attitude and plans to make her his. There is danger heading his way though as a threat to Josephine is close by but Maxwell is not going to let anyone get close enough to hurt her.

Very fun read. I have been looking forward to this one for awhile. Maxwell is pure alpha and I liked the whole concept of the pack.

This was a fun listen and I loved how Max took Josephine and worshiped her like she’s never had done before. There’s a lot of twist and turns in this one so make sure your buckled in.

Josephine, a BBW wolf shifter, trades places with her friend to save her from an arranged marriage to an Alpha from the Timber Valley Pack, expecting to be saved from it once Max realizes he has a big girl instead of thin beauty. But when she realizes that Max wants her as she is, will she want to be saved?

The Good and the Bad
So far, I’ve really enjoyed Ms. St. Clair’s world building and she has some great ideas. I would have liked to see more emotional development for the romantic component of these stories. This is a perfect example. There’s potential here with Josephine and Max, but beyond some hot sex there’s not much else in their relationship. When the hero recites why he loves the heroine, I wish I actually saw those same qualities, instead of being told about them. I keep hoping for something more because the writing has potential. It’s just not being executed. But on the bright side, it’s a cheap (99cents), easy read.

The Bottom Line
The worldbuilding brings me in, I just wish the emotional part of the romance was as important, so I can only give it a qualified recommendation.

2.5 stars

On the one hand, this novella was littered with inconsistencies, paper thin characters, and half-realized thoughts/plot.

On the other hand,

The sexytimes were also pretttty steamy :D
