The book started off slow and I DNF it last year for that reason. I gave it a second chance and I’m glad I did. I have no complaints only praises. I already ordered the second book in the duology and I can’t wait to read it!’n

So It is hard to descibe and I waited forever to start writing up reviews. The "vibes" are so cozy and fairytale like until all heck breaks loose lol. I think the setting, the spirits, the characters are very interesting. This is a duology so though there are some things solved at the end there are some things that are unresolved and make your heart hurt. I have been waiting on the library for book 2. 

I think the magic system is interesting based on the  history you get about the lands. 

In the east, use of magic slowly drains the user’s life, but the land is plentiful and mostly balanced. In the west, people can use magic with no consequence, but the land is bleak and weakly supports their community.
