I read this because my tween-aged daughter loved it and she wanted me to read it. I must not be the target audince. I felt like the manga narrative didn't provide for much character development, and thus I didn't really care what happened.

Decent adaptation so far... I remember being 15 or 16 myself reading the novel and thinking 19 was old (of course) and that I could outgrow fandom faster than Cath (I didn't)
