really enjoyable quick read. Loved the characters and how the story progressed, thought it was a bit predictable. in the end everybody got what they deserve and i liked it.

I did not enjoy this book at all. I think it was just too young for me when I read it. I didn't like the main character herself so it was difficult to enjoy any part of the book. Let's just say I was glad when I turned the last page. Maybe if I'd been quite a few years younger than maybe I would've liked it.

I'll vouch this book as a perfect read to get out of your reading slump.

It's been a while since I've read literary fiction that too middle grade...and I loved it. This story revolves around Annikas life with glimpses of perspectives from the people surrounding her.

The author took her time for Annikas character to develop and flesh out throughout the book and you do grow to adore her along with the people she loves.

We follow her through the ups and downs of her journey, which seemed to be of great promise but things started looking down and shadowy as she delved deeper into her own life.

This book is not only for children but for adults alike, it's entertaining and has appreciable writing style and beautiful world building.

It's after so long I got read about adventures in other countries in another time... reminding me of why I began to love books in the first place.

A lot of fun, this is Ibbotson's adult/YA historical novels slightly diluted for a younger audience (no romance), but it's so much like them that if you like them, you will like this for sure.
