I just love a Lisa Gardner book and I have really loved the last few. She is a must buy author for me. I really loved seeing Rainie and Quincy again. Rainie is so great as a mom! She has always been one of my favorite characters. Great storyline and good twist.
Wow, this was really good. A year ago, I wouldn't have read a book like this. I was a YA reader through and through but now that I'm reading more genres, I discovered this spell-bounding novel. Quincy and Rainie are wicked cool. And Sharlah is going to grow up and be just as wicked cool. Reading this gave me an insane urge to pursue a career similar to Quincy and Rainie because it was just so attention catching. My heart hurts for poor Telly, though. I wish there was more I could read about Sharlah and Telly.
Y'all... Bakersville, Oregon gets hot. This was a captivating read with a great look at the behind-the-scenes of law enforcement and profilers. But man, it sure is hot outside. Did I mention how unseasonably hot it is in this book? Because it's hot. And the characters won't shut up about it.
I love mystery/thrillers and I love crime shows and this honestly read so smooth and could easily be turned into a movie! I picked this up from my favorite used bookstore and had no idea it was one of a series. It definitely didn't read like a series which is WONDERFUL but I am going to be looking for more of these Quincy & Rainie series because I loved their characters. This story kept me on edge even though it was long, there were so many unknowns and I wanted to figure out what was going on! I love that there are little bits of information missing from the beginning that keep you guessing and turning the story over in your head as you read.
Bit too violent for me. Also the bits written from the girl's POV are a bit immature
Very few endings surprise me anymore, but this one did! I had guessed the twist, but I had not guessed the actual culprit.
Very well crafted, tense, thriller/procedural.

Not one of Lisa Gardner’s best. Maybe the worst, actually. This book felt lazy, with an unacceptably unreal plot and hundreds of incomplete sentences.
