Wowowow that was good.
Good enough to recommend to people just off the top of my head? No. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. But good enough to make me want to read more of Lisa Gardner’s books? ABSOLUTELY!

I was skeptical going into this book, because it is technically part of a series, but let me be the one to tell you- you DO NOT have to read the previous books to understand this one. It reads SO WELL as a stand-alone and I had so much fun reading this book!

I really enjoyed this one. I didn’t realize it was past of a series when I started it so now I definitely want to go back and read the previous ones! I could have sworn I’ve read a book from this author before but apparently this was my first one, and it was pretty good. Loved the characters and the plot. Everything you’re lead to believe is happen isn’t the whole story, which I loved. Thought the ending could have had a little bit more to it. But overall, a great read!

This mystery is something I could have seen in the real world which makes my logic brain and pleasure reading brain happy. It has some twists and turns you don't see coming and some you can figure out with all the clues they give you. The author has done her research and it shows. It can be a little slow at times but it builds up to a climax that is exciting and satisfying. The characters are well developed and relateable as well as realistic. The plot has you guessing without being lost and I didn't want to put the book down till I figured out the next part. Someone make this into a movie, I'd pay to see it.

My husband accidentally bought this for me thinking it was a different book with the same title, best mistake ever! I haven’t read the rest of the series but I started reading this at 10am on a Sunday and read it straight through til 2am (right now)! Definitely gained a new fan in me!!!

I haven’t read a psychological thriller in years and now I wonder why. This book was fantastic! I instantly bonded with the characters. I found myself rooting for the suspected murderer which is kind of awkward until you read the story. The author writes well and keeps the suspense flowing. I highly recommend reading this book. It won’t let you down!!

dark mysterious tense fast-paced

just like a long episode of criminal minds except there were too many characters to keep straight

Fast paced thriller in the FBI profiler series. This time, the focus is on Sharlah, the foster child of Pierce Quincy and Rainie Conner, as well as Sharlah's older brother, Telly. Telly's foster parents are found murdered, as well as 2 people at the EZ Gas convenience store. Telly is the main suspect. This is a very complex story, with many diversions, to keep you guessing until the end.
