While this book started out slow it took off and became one of my favorite reads, so far. The story is told between two prospectives every other chapter, but  let’s you know just who speaking/thinking within the first sentence. Jaxon and Quinn are the two main characters and while complete opposites they become a team. The author builds this world for us that one can visualize  at every turn. We as readers can see the friendships grow and even the beginnings of love. This is the type of series that you fall into and don’t want to leave. Quinn and her spunk mixed with the clam of Jaxson is such a winning match. I will be finishing this series. I was given a copy for my honest opinion.

This was a fun read!

I struggled a bit when the book started with figuring out what was going on. As the book continued, however, Geraci’s writing really settles in. I started to enjoy the characters and their relationships. I’m looking forward to those continuing to build as the series continues. The magic system is also interesting, and I feel that it will continue to be explained as well. 

I think this would be a great addition to middle school/high school libraries for young people who like stories about fantasy and friendships!
