I wanted to read this book because I enjoyed the first book and wanted to see how Landon’s story was going to end. I also wanted to see the perspective off Hessa’s relationship from a normal and sane person.

This book still follows Landon Gibson, he has always been the nice guy, the one who would do anything for anyone – selfless to a fault. And while he’s not on some mission to lose his kindness, he’s realizing he’s needs to stick up for himself more, to figure out what he wants and not be shy about it. Especially when dealing with an ex-girlfriend who runs hot and cold – treating him badly one day, then proclaiming her need for him the next. And maybe even more when faced with the mysterious Nora – a girl with at least two names and a thousand aides to her, some of which really want to jump him, some of which keep pulling her away. If there’s a mystery at the core of these relationships, Landon also knows it’s the mystery of finding a great life. He just wants someone to call his own. So here’s to hoping that the battleground that is dating in New York isn’t just a little too advanced for him. This novel is new adult contemporary romance.

I would recommend reading the after series before reading this series as a lot of Landon internal monologue is about what happens between Tessa and Hardin and Landon being stuck in between them. I love Landon – he is such a sweetheart. He is always looking out for his friends, but you can see him fighting this internal battle of wanting to be outspoken but also wants to be polite. I enjoy this storyline and I would have loved to see Hardin when he arrived in New York. I loved Nora and the secrets she kept and why she kept them quiet. I was hoping to see more of an epilogue with Nora and Landon and to see what had happened.

Overall, I enjoyed this series and it also showed more of a view on people’s opinions of Hessa’s relationship and shows that their relationship was batshit crazy.
