Quite an easy read and mostly stays true to the chick-lit formula. Young woman trying to find mister right amidst troubles with work and friends. But it was one of the most refreshing books I've read in a while. I enjoyed the cultural context of the book as it explores the lives of rather socially conservative young professional women. With the arranged dating scene creating a different scene to most chick-lit books. There was less jumping into bed with random men and more women knowing what they want out of life and not settling for less. Not everyone ends up with a typical happily ever after but you don't feel that anyone made a bad decision. I enjoyed journeying with this group of women. If it ever became a series, I'd happily read more.

Randa needs to write all the new adult contemporary novels; please, I need more of this atmosphere and lovable characters.

Summary of this book is: 28-year-old Esma traverses through handling a dim-witted overbearing boss, having to help her father with a debt all while life takes a turn after disasters searching for MR Right.

I've known to seldom enjoy contemporary novels. those are few and far between but NSITC gave me a jumpstart. I loved the wit and vibes the book gave out.

+ Best written female friendships I've seen from a new adult novel. I loved the tight knitness of the group its self.
+ Ayden has my heart now. loved him as a romantic interest for Esma.
+ No sugar coating anything and no shying away from difficult subjects.

- though at times the pace meandered a bit and a few plot points went on forever

If you're into chick-lit, strong women, friendships, family and love this is the book for you! The characters are very real and they give very big NO to victim blaming, sexual harrasment and idiotic men!

If someone asked me if this was a good read I would hesitate. It is a flawed book and I would never classify it as good literature. However Randa Abdul Fattah is one of those authors that you can see all the flaws in her writing but they are idiosyncratic and I can't help enjoying her books so much. I really wanted to read what happened next. I laughed out loud and enjoyed reading the dilemmas. A really good feel book.

The only criticism that I feel should be changed (the rest I'm happy to leave as is) is that the end was very sudden, like when someone hits the break immediately at a traffic light.
