A sweet and engaging read. The visuals jump off the page and really immerse you in the world. The characters are also easy to love and joy. It’s also really great trans rep <3

A really immersive and fun book. The descriptions of people and places are vibrant and alive, you get really immersed into the characters lives and you grieve and laugh with them. Overall an easy but fantastic read.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the Latinx and queer representation (it’s so rare to felt seen on both fronts), and the magic of the world is so beautiful that I wanted it to be real.  The characters are so adorable and lovable; the MC’s romance was so sweet and compelling, and developed naturally. Despite some aspects of the plot being telegraphed too strongly early on, the story still had some twists I didn’t expect, and i enjoyed the whole read. I especially loved Thomas’ brilliant handling of deadnaming, so the deadname literally never appears in this book. I finished this a few days ago and I keep thinking of it, so I might need a reread sooner than I thought. Definitely recommend this read, especially close to Día de los Muertos!

I felt so immersed in this story,  I really clicked with Thomas' writing style. 
I immediately fell in love with all of the characters and the dialog made me giggle on multiple occasions. Fantastic queer rep.
I absolutely love this premise and the plot. 
I'll be dreaming of marigolds tonight I think ♥️
