But Yadriel and Julian are so dang cute 😭 it's a fun story with a good pace. Also the concept of a teen witch who won't use her healing powers because she's vegan is hilarious.
I'm curious how much of the "brujx" culture is real and how much is imaginary - I would love to learn more.

While on the hunt to find out what really happened to Yadriel’s also recently deceased cousin, Yadriel soon realizes that he doesn’t want Julian to leave him for the spirit world just yet. Cemetery Boys is a culturally rich and beautiful narrative that tells the story of love, family, and friendship. I loved Thomas’s descriptive writing style that makes me truly feel like I am within the book's setting. This one is definitely a quick read and I encourage you to read it soon as Dia de los Muertos is November 1st! Cemetery Boy is truly a one-of-a-kind story that you don’t want to miss.

review
I really enjoyed the relationships between all the characters, especially Yads and Jules' relationship and how it formed. However I do believe the overall plot was kind of... obvious, as in it would obviously end up being someone close to them that end up hurting them. But the whole storyline throughout the chapters is what kept me going, wanting to learn more abut the characters, how relationships formed and what exactly would happen! I found the book to be a average paced read at least and didn't rush myself to get through. I definitely would love to talk about the characters, I believe the culture and characters are really what made this book stand out.
Conclusion
Pros: really enjoyed seeing the difference in culture and how they view lgbt folks
Cons: overall ending didn't give much of a surprise or suspense
Overall 4/5 stars
