first of all... yes I FINALLY finished it. But for some reason I feel kind of empty and sad. I will miss the characters.

Väinö Linna I such a great author. I don't know how to explain this but these books could've been worse. Easily. But Väinö Linna managed to write it very very well. I admit it... there were boring and uninteresting parts but there were also a lot of really interesting parts. For example he explained Finland's civil war very well and kept me interested through the 3 books. It was also nice to read what life was like 100 years ago. I'm really happy I read these books.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is probably the fact that there were a lot of unnecessary parts. I read so many speeches (?) of communism and socialism that I'm basically specialist by now (just kidding).

But yea. Overall a great book about Finland's history and everyday life. 4/5 would recommend.
