"This issue: Everything changes!"

How often have we heard that one? Well, this time the change is big and it sticks for the remainder of the original series. Specifically, the writer discards the most iconic visual of the series, Richard Benson's frozen, colorless face. Thanks to a superscientific death trap, the Avenger's facial nerves are restored to mobility, and his color returns. It's a fairly shocking twist. There are also some tweaks to Benson's background to make him younger, and he picks up a new sidekick.

The plot involves a prototype super-car, faster than anything on the road, with amazing suspension and nigh-indestructible. It has of course been stolen, but by who, and why precisely? There are double and triple crosses, and not everyone is playing by the same rules.

There's kind of a bend in the middle when the editorial mandate to change the main character becomes obvious, but it's still a good yarn.
