Gorgeously written book with such a moving ending. Love the focus on the women of the house, not the men. O’Farrell’s writing style continues to be unparalleled.

I loved this book. It has really reminded me of my love for historical fiction. I cried, I cried. The writing was beautiful, intriguing. I was so invested and so heartbroken. These characters were rich, beautiful. I loved this.

Powerful writing illuminates universal human experiences in 1590s England. Interesting choices were made in the narrative voice and leaving the playwright unnamed. Does the supernatural element fit considering the plays? I think it does. Did anyone else get the glovemaker joke? :-)
