The premise was there, but the unfolding left me a little disappointed, because I would have expected a little more sparkle, from what seemed to be the couple (among the three) with the most drama going on...

I enjoyed this book. I like an old English romance like Bridgerton or Evie Dunmore. This one was more fun than usual with the murder mystery thrown in. There wasn’t a ton of witty banter or emotions but it was not a boring just won’t be with be for long. I have not read the first 2 (this was 3) and didn’t feel like I was missing anything and also didn’t feel the need to run out and get the others so just decent but a library read, no need to own it
I read the 1st book in this series, somehow missed the second, and this is the third. It was not at all necessary to have read the earlier books, though I enjoyed the one I *did* read.
In keeping with the rest of the series, "A Spinster's Guide to Danger and Dukes" centers a strong, intelligent woman and surrounds her with a nice supporting cast and a surprisingly modern love interest. This book begins with our heroine discovering that her sister has been accused of murder, and rushing to her sister's aide. Conveniently, along the way she runs into a duke that she has met a couple of times before (this was apparently in the book that I didn't read!). He agrees to help her with her sister and she agrees to help him with his grandmother, who is trying to make a match for him. This, of course, leads to my very favorite trope... the fake relationship. Whoop!
The pacing was nicely done, though I could have used another chapter at the resolution of the murder mystery. The mystery was interesting enough, The spice level was satisfactory. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading more from this author.
My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and ARC of this book.

‘A SPINSTER’S GUIDE TO DANGER AND DUKES’ BOOK REVIEW
by Manda Collins
Publisher: Grand Central Publishers
Pub Date: March 28, 2023
My Thoughts:
4.5⭐️. I am loving this series. I love the characters especially the FMC in each of the series. They’re daring and opinionated. Brave and curious.
From start to finish, never bored. Finished this book in one sitting. Never predictable. Love how the men are so enamored by the women. It gave just enough spice without going overboard. Enemies to lovers trope.
Poppy is no different from the FMC of this series. Stubborn, quick wit, and determined to find her half sister. The one thing I like about the Duke is that he doesn’t let society dictate his decisions, not even his grandmother. I love the banter, the unpredictability, and the plot.
Thank you, Netgalley and Grand Central Pub for the eARC in return for an honest review.

My favorite out of the series so far! The mystery was so much easier to follow in this book than it was in the previous one
