A necessary read to anyone wanting to learn more about the condition of black and/or working class women in the US but also applicable to other western capitalist countries

Phenomenonal work. It's importance cannot be overstated, not simply because its historical examination of the intersections between gender, race, and class in the US context is elucidating and powerfully argued, but because it's extremely accessible. One does not need to have read several academics in order to understand this text, and I think that is one of its greatest strengths, especially in our current moment.
