Sentí que todo el tiempo estuvo a punto de pasar algo pero al final no pasaba nada. Lo sentí lento y superficial como la neblina que tanto menciona. No me encantó

Would have been a 5-star but the ending was terrible leaving you wondering why you read the book in the first place.

The author captures the experiences and perspectives of an 8-year-old girl in a family that lacks much support or joy. She doesn't trust her father's silences and ends up as a sort of caretaker for her depressed, childlike mother. She delights in nature but tends to focus on the fearsome parts that reflect her family's psychological state in a desperate attempt to understand what is going on around her. I think the author did a very good job of laying out how the child experiences the world in a hermetic, unhappy family. I am not sure about the ending. It felt flip. Life does go on, but this girl is trapped in generational trauma.

This book is so sad and lonely because it's the pov of an 8 year old girl who's mother suffers from depression and her father is 25 years older than her mother and doesn't speak much. Then when they go vacation at this house in the mountain it gets really creepy and the little girl is focused on so much death.
