Full review to come but wow. Just wow. Gunner is beyond-words-amazing. The angst is there, the heartbreak and dealing with scars, past pain, and trying to find hope. Gunner and Chase have a deep understanding for one another and to see them just *know* when the other needs them to just support or to say something is truly beautiful.

Hard to Lose is the least “sports romance” of the series and our hero is a former baseball star turned military man. I buddy read this with @booksandbubbs and she can attest to how many times I said I loved Gunner. It was a lot. I just couldn’t get enough of him, he was sweet, charming, caring, working through some of the trauma being in the military can cause and still trying to give back to those who need help. The woo-ing was so fun and I loved to see the charm of the military town too.
Chase is strong, determined, and very goal-oriented. She decides to take a small break from her normal schedule to find a man who wrote a letter to KSM 5 years ago. She ends up meeting Gunner and fudging the details on why she’s there only to fall completely in love with him (which is impossible not to do).
There are so many things to love about this story I can’t even name them all. The ending did feel a little rushed to me but it didn’t overshadow any of the love I have for this book and couple. Chase and Gunner just fit. They understand each other so well in such a short time and that connection is just so strong neither can deny their feelings.

Hard to Lose, the fourth book in the fantastic Play Hard series, may be the best book in the series to date. Chase and Gunner’s story definitely pulled on my heartstrings and made me feel all the things. K. Bromberg does a great job mixing her flawless storytelling with undeniable character chemistry and emotionally charged and tender moments. I am just so in love with this book
When a long lost letter from a former baseball player turned military vet lands on her desk, Chase Kincade decides to use this opportunity to find him and stir up some good publicity for her company. When she lands in Destiny Falls, she’s charmed by an oh so delicious bartender. Unbeknownst to her, he’s just the man she’s looking for.
Chase has my favorite character arc of all her sisters. The youngest Kincade is a career driven, goal-oriented and competitive sports agent at Kincade Sports Management. When it comes to matters of the heart. She wants no part of the life her sisters found with their significant others. Her views of love and marriage did come off a little cold. However, as the story continues and the connection with Gunner grows you see her walls come down and a less wound Chase comes out. I really enjoyed seeing her let her guard down.
I don’t think it's possible to love Gunner any more than I do right this second. He is everything you want in a hero. Swoony, caring, devoted and a little broken. He lost so much - family, friends, and his dream - and he carries a world of guilt. Still, he's determined to live life to the fullest. I fall for a Bromberg hero fairly easily, but I have never loved one of her heroes this deeply. His giant beautiful heart is wildly attractive. Every scene with the kids of fallen soldiers melted me. My heart felt like it was going to explode with all his sincerity and genuine care.
I absolutely love the relationship between Chase and Gunner. Absolutely perfect together. They understood one another. From the first interaction, you just knew they were meant to be. It hurt my heart just as much as it hurt theirs when lies told affected their strong bond.
Book by book, K. Bromberg continues to impress with this incredible series and Hard to Lose is no different. I highly recommend picking up this beautiful, emotional journey especially if you're a fan of small town, military and/or sports romance.

"“Dance with me,” she urges.
“Why?” I laugh.
“Because from here on out, every time it rains, you’ll stop and think of me.”
She’s absolutely fucking right. I’ll never feel a raindrop again without thinking of this moment, right now. Of her sexy smile and her wild eyes."

Gunner is my new book boyfriend. This book was so swoon worthy, emotional and angsty at the same time!!!
One of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read about.
Chase was a relatable heroine and that is something I always appreciate in my books.
The book reads easily, it is sizzling and beautifully written. I recommend it!

By far this was my favorite book in this series. I enjoyed them all, but there was something about this story that tugged at my heart. Sports agent Chase Kincaide is going through the motions of life. Her sisters are all settling down and starting families and she is feeling alone. When she finds a letter that was sent to her father from a baseball prospect years ago. Something about this letter grabs her and she is determined to find the author. Ryan “Gunner” Camden returns from the service with a huge amount of guilt. He tries to make everything right for the families of his friends that didn’t make it back. When he meets Chase there is an instant attraction. As these two loners begin a relationship, they soon realize what has been missing in their lives. An unintentional lie rips them apart, but is it enough to keep these two separated. This story was a heartbreaker and mended it along they way. I loved how genuine Chase and Gunner were. Such an amazing book!

Well, it's happened. I have read my most favorite K. Bromberg book of all, and that's saying something, given my rekindled love for Kristy and her writing. Yep, Gunner and Chase totally owned me, and I have nothing but love for their story, HARD TO LOSE.
I read a lot of books, and there are plenty that I really like, and that stay with me, and among them there are the ones that dazzle me, that just really resonate for one reason or another. When it comes time for my yearly list of 'Favorite Reads,' it's not so hard to pull one together, because they are the books that I am still thinking about long after I've read them. When I make the list for this year, there's no doubt that HARD TO LOSE will be on it, because I am so in love with this book.
Ryan 'Gunner' Camden stole my heart in every single way, not the least of which is the way that he loved Chase Kinkade. For someone that has experienced so much pain and loss, his heart, whether he believes it or not, is wide open, and full of so much love and care for others. And for Chase, driven, self-sufficient, successful Chase, Gunner is just the person that she needs, whether she knows it or not. The two of them together smooth out all of the broken, jagged edges, and make the most beautiful whole.
Look, I could obviously go on and on, because this book touched me very much. I have loved the whole Play Hard series, but this book is the one. It's sexy and sweet and redemptive and healing, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. Do yourself a favor and make this a must-read-soon addition to your TBR. ❤️
