Wasn't too into the first story, but really enjoyed Pilgrim of Love and the story of the 'peaceful' ruler. Interesting that so much of the stories revolve around Moors and Muslims/ Moslims - it's easy to forget that they have history in southern Spain as well.

I am quite biased towards this book as my grandfather was one of the last families to ever live in the Alhambra. I found this book to be slow-paced at the beginning but soon picks up as the author begins to retell the stories surrounding the castle. I did find it difficult to read at times due to how it was written in "old-English."

Sweet stories that definitely capture the spirit of the Alhambra. I kept wondering why no one had made these into a film - they would be amazing...
