Read it very quickly. If you liked "A Complicated Kindness", you'll like this. I just fall in love with her characters.

I really enjoyed this book. It was quirky and had a few surprises along the way. It made me think a lot about love and forgiveness, trying to find your voice, and the struggle to find meaning in your life.

Toews continues to write great female characters who are conflicted and struggling, but not weak or hopeless. Irma Voth was a bit of a change from what I've read of Toews' before, as the focus on Mennonites was a lot stronger than her other books I've read recently. Irma was a great character, although at times the book felt as though it might have been better as a short story or novella, since at times nothing really happened.

The characters, as usual, were great, and like all of Toews' books, this one will stay with me for a while.

Gorgeous writing, plot felt a bit off in places.
