The last bit of closure for the series is the ghosts inhabiting Shizu's body. They need closure in order to move on, and Shizu and Tetsu decide to find it. Haru is the biggest surprise, both sad and sweet. Shizu forms a friendship with his daughter in the search, though.
Shizu gets to continue discovering herself. Finding out who she is and what she likes, and what she wants. I really like these kinds of plot lines/characters to begin with, and it's nice to see Shizu figuring these things out. She's getting out there and making friendships, going after what she wants, and growing her relationship with Tetsu along the way.
The ending for this series was really sweet. It wrapped up all of the loose threads, including Shizu's relationship with her father and Tetsu's mother's status. Some a little open, but on the way to getting better, I think.
This was a really sweet series, and I'm glad I followed it.

This was a gem.
I stumbled across someone in social media mentioning it and I got a little curious. So I started it, unsure what to expect from it, and fell in love. Fantastic characters with plenty of personal developments and growth (I may have teared up a few times), and some nice plot twists along the way.
I highly recommend this manga. It's so, so good!

I haven't cried this much over a manga ending since The Promised Neverland.
not to get extremely personal in the goodreads review section but the other day while reading through old letters ive collected from old friends and family members, i basically broke down crying and ended up writing in my journal that i am never as alone as i feel in the past present and certainly in the future and like idk why i picked this manga from all the recs i got the other day but this short and sweet series really reinforced that. yes i am crying like a mf again and this will probably stick w me for the rest of my life as i will think of it when i am feeling dreadful and lonely but yknow what. crying is ok! lets just hope my eyes arent puffy tmrw morning
update: i did wake up with puffy eyes bro this is so sick

to be frankly honest I didn't think I'd like this AT ALL???? it was a nice reading, though. wouldn't recommend because it wasn't remarkable but it was very very sweet I might say.

damn this manga is so good megumi morino you never misses maam. it made me cry so much that my eyes swollen after the last chapter. at first i was really creeped out by the fact that FL got possessed daily but when i know that good spirits are actually protecting her and getting to know them more i got warmed up with this story with these characters. ngl i wasn’t prepared to say goodbye to shinobu, haru, mirei and kanato. i wish i can read more of them. and damn what’s with harumichi’s arc WHY IS IT SO SAD😭😭😭😭 i hope sakura and her mom will find happiness eventually.
the ML, tetsu, he has the first kid syndrome meaning that he’s the one who shouldered everything mental health be damned. and in this story he actually did it so, because of the situation with his mother. i cried a river reading that chapter and i’m so glad his family decided to fight together this time. that he’s not alone in this matter.
i’m also glad his friendship with chihiro is getting better. i’m so proud of them. and the fact that chihiro is also one of those people who can see tetsu’s mom watching over her son made me so emo.
also ofc the relationship between shizu and tetsu. it started out as him getting money to get closer to her to him genuinely wanting to help her get better. i’m so glad they find happiness through each other, that they’re there for each other and that they’re each other’s strengths. the story is so wholesome, offered something new and unique and successfully made people getting attached to these lovely characters.
lastly, i’m still pissed off with her dad. i was hoping it was him who approached shizu first. but i guess this is a sign that shizu is really blooming, that shizu is a good person inside and out, that she’s not selfish and just want everyone to smile and not cry.
this is definitely worth reread. i’ll make sure to get both the paperback version and on kindle too.

For a 6-volume series, this managed to have no loose ends and a satisfying conclusion on all fronts? That never happens! I am so happy that I picked up this series!
If you don't know, this is the final volume of Shizu and Tetsu's story. Tetsu takes a job housekeeping and finds himself falling for the beautiful mystery of a girl who lives there, Shizu. When his first confession of love goes awry, he learns that Shizu is not just hidden away for no reason. She has a group of ghosts that borrow her body!
This series follows that premise to every emotional high and low. I cried, I was shocked, I was fearful, I smiled, and I laughed. Not one plot thread was lost, and, in actuality, all plot threads ended in a perfect finalizing bow. The storytelling was impressive, the characters lovable, the relationships and emotions realistic beyond belief. The art! The art was gorgeous and subtle and so emotive. It has been a while since I felt so at peace with a manga ending.
Series: 5☆ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Volume: 5☆ ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED OBVIOUSLY

Beautiful story, beatiful ending. I loved seeing Shizu's growth throughout the series and the characters that supported her since day one. Not only was I invested to the two main characters lives' but to a lot of side characters as well. The ending especially tugged at my heartstrings
