I found the pace of the ending versus the beginning a bit jarring. I enjoyed the exploration into the characters during the beginning and middle but felt the end introduced too many characters and seemed much more surface level leaving the reader to imply what has happened. It felt rushed.

A good book and great summer read, although not a light one. But I have to admit, that I expected a bit more out of the subject.
The narrative revolves around family dynamics, fame, idealization of the father who‘s a famous writer and the subjectivity of remembering which I found really interesting. But somehow I often felt like it was a bit flat, not quite touching the ground, like the reader is stumbling through the narrative without ever really getting to see what‘s beyond.
While it didn‘t really meet my expectiations it‘s still a worthwhile read :)
