Now, I could say I didn’t like this because the main character is irredeemable, or there was way too much misogyny, but truthfully? 

This book was so boring. 

Man drinks > goes to work > complains and gets in trouble > cheats on his partner > complains and drinks > rinse and repeat. 

I just did not care about any of it, and nothing happened to compel me to.

I also don’t think it’s that well written and funny? A couple parts made me sensibly chuckle, but they were few and far between and mostly at the start.

I have a friend whose favorite author is Bukowski, and we have similar tastes, but I just can’t read another one of his books. I’m sorry, Claud.
