Minus a few funny dialogues I took nothing good from this book. The overall idea would have been fun if the narrator wasn’t truly disgusting racist, sexist character.  I read till the end in hope of him getting what he deserved but I was let down.

Bukowski/Chinaski is a misogynist, but somehow his female characters seem to receive more respect from Chinaski than he has for himself. Great, quick read with plenty of funny bits, especially when Bukowski describes the drudgery of menial jobs and the high, yet nonsensical, expectations they foist on their workers.
