I inhaled this book! Truly, I adored it.

Kaner’s worldbuilding is stellar. The plot is gripping. You see the duality of all characters and feel torn in a way that's really beautiful. It was the perfect ending to the trilogy, and I think every character got the ended they needed.

I think what impressed me most, though, was just how effortlessly normal she made inclusivity feel. Her cast is incredibly diverse, and you learn about them in very matter-of-fact ways. Character actions never felt tokenized or reified as this other doing the extraordinary despite their ability, race, gender, or sexuality. It was an important part of their identity, but it never felt like the only part of their identity. She walked the fine line between being seen and being ogled, and, to me, that’s what really made this book shine.
