The beginning was slow, the middle was fast, and the end was slow and a bit disappointing. I liked the uniqueness of the book but overall felt it didn’t end cleanly or clearly, which was sort of a bummer.
The characters were cool and the premise was so original, though, I did enjoy it!

So, five stars. Because I can't get this damn book out of my damn head!!
I realise it probably wasn't perfect but it had me thinking and dreaming and reflecting on so many part of today, our society, and life. My head is exploding with thoughts so I couldn't not give this five stars!!

A post apocalyptic story of a girl Marlow who shares her entire life for the cameras and her followers, but wants to escape. However a twist leads her to realise that her story is not all it seems to be.
The story also follows Orla and Floss and their life in a timeline prior to Marlow.

I absolutely loved Followers by Megan Angelo. If you love Black Mirror, celebrities, and have an opinion (good or bad) on Instagram influencers, this one's for you. Told in real time and fast forwarding 35 years in the future, it's a dystopian look at a social media obsessed culture... and where that gets you. For real, I couldn't put it down (but I should be putting my phone down more!)

This book was interesting. I can't really say good or bad but... interesting. Half of it took place in the now and the other half in the future where something called the Spill has changed technology forever and reality stars are accessible twenty three hours a day. And the two storylines connect in a wholly convoluted set of events. It was creative. I didn't care much about most of the characters though and that was an issue. Still, the creativity of the whole thing might have outweighed that.

I was intrigued by the social media representation of this book. Could this happen in this day and age? It definitely makes you think. Bravo!
